He was the last Lord of the
Isles to be buried on Iona, he died at Islay and was buried on
the south side of St Oran's Chapel (q.v). He son and successor
was Alexander who died in 1449 and was buried in Fortrose
Cathedral. His son John was the last Lord of the Isles: he
surrendered the Lordship to King James IV in 1493 and died in
1503; he was buried in Paisley Abbey |
