Auvergne Departments Allier Puy-de-Dôme Cantal Haute-Loire

Auvergne is a spectacular, wild, mountainous region of France. We climbed to nearly 5,863 feet above sea level, the last part on foot. The roads can be narrow and very winding and with many a hairpin bend. Many are certainly not for caravans or camper vans! Wonderful scenery to wake up to in the morning but a long hard road to buy the morning's pain! Most of the effigies are in Haute-Loire, a few in Allier, only one in Puy-de-Dôme, and none at all in Cantal. However there may be other monuments awaiting discovery Auvergne is now combined with Rhône-Alpes, so becoming Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
